Our Community

The U.S. Soccer Heroes is committed to the community – not only in our day-to-day roles to protect and serve, but also in our ability to offer assistance to those in need.

Tournament Fundraisers

The U.S. Soccer Heroes participates in fundraisers for law enforcement and first responder families in need.  Requests for aid must be in writing and submitted via fax (201-839-9886) or via email to CoachAlex@SoccerLearningCenter.com.  Due to the volume of letters we receive, requests originating from agencies within Hudson County, New Jersey and those involving children of LEOs and first responders from Hudson County will receive first priority for consideration.  We regret that requests from agencies or individuals not connected to law enforcement or first responders cannot be considered.

School Appearances

The U.S. Soccer Heroes are happy to visit your school, soccer team, or other student-focussed organization to explain what we do and offer mini soccer clinics for children in grades K through 12.  We offer a positive, upbeat message about physical fitness, personal integrity, and the importance of working as a team to solve problems and build community.  To arrange for a player appearance or mini clinic, please email Coach Alex Lalaoui at CoachAlex@SoccerLearningCenter.com.

The Shooting Stars Soccer Program

The Shooting Stars Soccer Program for autistic children began in April of 2011 thanks to the generosity of two local sponsors; O’Connell’s Restaurant in Jersey City and Bayway World of Liquor in Elizabeth.   With their help, the first class of seven children, aged 3 and 4, received nine weeks of professional soccer instruction and class equipment – all free of charge.

The class is headed by USSF “A” licensed coach, Alex Lalaoui, who has nearly a decade of experience training children and adults on how to play the world’s most popular sport.  He works one-on-one with this small, specialized group and is assisted by a trained autism educator.

To support our charitable initiatives by becoming a program sponsor, please contact Melinda Vickerman, Director by email CoachAlex@SoccerLearningCenter.com or call her at 201-656-1156.

Media Interviews

Meet a hero – our law enforcement and first responders are available for media interviews to explain how they contribute to our communities in positive ways each and every day.  To arrange for an interview, please contact Melinda Vickerman at CoachAlex@SoccerLearningCenter.com.
