The Jersey City Fire Department Honor Guard stepped on to the pitch at the new Meadowlands Stadium this Saturday in front of a cheering crowd just shy of 80,000 fans attending the U.S. Men’s National Soccer team vs. Argentina. Carrying the American, New Jersey, JCFD and Argentinian flags, the officers did our state proud with their wonderful presentation which received high praise from United States Soccer Federation officials.

Congratulations and a warm thank you to the following JCFD officers for their hard work and preparation for the day’s events: Batallion Captain Jack Farrington, Captain Rich Gorman, Captain Al Torres, Firefighter Carl Ross, Firefighter Nelson Martinez, Jr, Firefighter Tony Aviles, Firefighter Harry Kawoczka.
