In a stunning, last-minute 6 to 5 victory, the U.S. Fire Games national champions, N.J. Guns ‘n Hoses, beat out the rival Army Military Police team in tonight’s winter indoor soccer finals in Jersey City.

“The Army team put up a tremendous effort tonight,” said Coach Alex Lalaoui, the U.S. Soccer Heroes coaching director.  “Guns ‘n Hoses is a tight team and they’re consistently taking home champion cups,” he added.  “We had a very close match and it really was anyone’s game right up until the end.”

With a ball inadvertently kicked into their own goal in the final minutes of the match, the U.S. Army sealed their fate for the season.

Awarding the champions cup, special guest of honor Freeholder Anthony L. Romano of Hoboken hailed the team’s effort and applauded their win.
